Who is Honza?
Jonny Fox is a recently retired Detective Chief Inspector. Despite a successful career in the Metropolitan Police, he’s still haunted by his last case. Needing a break before his next challenge, he decides to take an impromptu trip to Prague to visit the birthplace of his late mother for the first time. Although she was proud of her Czech heritage, she never spoke about her family or offered to take him to Prague.
Early in his vacation, Jonny finds himself caught up in a baffling murder in Old Town Square. His relaxing holiday quickly turns into a fast-paced and thrilling adventure as he is welcomed into the Czech police by eccentric detective, Felix Mikeš, finding a city and its people that are already beginning to feel like home. Embroiled in a new case, and quickly nicknamed ‘Honza’, Jonny is prompted to reassess what is truly important, and begins to piece together the broken pieces of his life, discovering something new in the process.
Book themes
The first book, In the Heart of Prague, follows Jonny as he chases down a murderer in a new city full of welcomes at every corner. Can he figure out what he truly wants, and catch the elusive killer?
The second book in the series is Head to Head. The story picks up one month later, following Jonny as he settles into a new life in Prague, beginning a search for his lost Czech family. Just when he’s starting to enjoy a more comfortable work-life balance, a mysterious missing persons case leads to a murder hunt full of twists and turns. Who can be following Jonny when hardly anyone knows him in Prague?
One of Us Lied, the third book in the series, finds Jonny facing decisions about his future. Just when everything is starting to look a bit clearer, he finds himself embroiled in solving a murder mystery that feels too close to home for comfort.
